Taking place in Brooklyn's Prospect Park peninsula on May 9 2005, this event was the first of what looks to become an annual tradition. Informally known as 'Toddstock' after underground promoter Todd P, it attracted a small and friendly crowd who relaxed and listened attentively as a remarkable cross-section of local talent got up on the log that served as an impromptu stage. Here, in iPod compatible mp4, you have one song from each of the performers: Todd Patrick - Engine Katrina Rudmin -... PUNKCAST#997 Hatfield And The North Bowery Poetry Club NYCJune 25 2006 sponsored by WWWhatsup Online Pinstand with thanks to Bowery Poetry Club and Downtown Music Gallery 'Lything and Gracing' Like punk itself, punkcast has deep roots in the hippie heydays of the late 60's, when bands took r&b to new psychedelic limits. PUNKCAST#1382: A few weeks back a show by a reformed Teenage Jesus & The Jerks launched with a bang Thurston Moore and Byron Coley's new book 'No Wave:Post-Punk. Underground. New York. 1976-1980'. But this was a far more genteel affair at the McNally Robinson bookstore in Soho where Thurston was joined by David Browne, who himself has a new book out - a biography of Sonic Youth - 'Goodbye 20th Century', for a talk/signing session. Thurston genially fielded questions from David and the crowd...

This is the opening number of the punkcast VCD of The Long Blondes' show at NYC's Cake Shop last midsummer, one of the most popular we have ever produced. The song 'Lust In The Movies' was also the band's very first single in the UK. The band hails from Sheffield, home of some of the best classic post-punk, and currently a thriving hotbed of new music. The vocal mix is a bit uneven, as the Cake Shop sound guy settles down, but the song is bound to hook you to the Long Blonde sound. More info on...
